Allyson Packer and Jesse Fisher
Elysia Marginata is a marine slug that decapitates itself if its body gets sick. In just a few weeks, the lonely head is able to regenerate a new body for itself, leaving behind the old one.
Comparing problematic social elements to disease and evoking the accompanying yearning for their excision is a time-honored political tradition.
